I just knew Reilly would write an article on MJ's negative Hall of Fame speech.  As usual, it's very funny and to the point.  Check it out.

MJ is a mean person. Period.

Thanks for posting Rick's take on the speech. There has been a small amount of talk Sports Boards about it. If these remarks are true and I'm sure they are, then he doesn't deserve to called an "idol" for anyone. This goes beyound conceit. Just another prima donna with an ax to grind. Give it a rest MJ.

Mj is king, he is real and says what he needs. Not fake like others with fake smiles thanking everyone who never been there.

Re: Rick Reilly's Take On Michael Jordan

I read your blog on Mj's speech, so i had to hear it. I went to Youtube. And i completely disagree with your point. Why is it that anytime someone is recognized for their achievements that they have to stand up and cry and thank god and thank mommy and daddy, and thank coach so-and-so, and say that they are so lucky. MJ stood up and he talked about what drove him to be the best he could be. He used examples from his childhood and his brothers and sisters, to high school, to Bryon Russel's comments about him coming back to the NBA. I think he was trying to tell kids that you can use anything in your life to fuel your fire. MJ was always a classy player, and i think people misunderstood that speech.
