Re: Rick Reilly's Take On Michael Jordan
I read your blog on Mj's speech, so i had to hear it. I went to Youtube. And i completely disagree with your point. Why is it that anytime someone is recognized for their achievements that they have to stand up and cry and thank god and thank mommy and daddy, and thank coach so-and-so, and say that they are so lucky. MJ stood up and he talked about what drove him to be the best he could be. He used examples from his childhood and his brothers and sisters, to high school, to Bryon Russel's comments about him coming back to the NBA. I think he was trying to tell kids that you can use anything in your life to fuel your fire. MJ was always a classy player, and i think people misunderstood that speech.
