Caught the Boise State / Eastern Washington game last night. Despite being a little sluggish on offense, the Broncos did a great job on defense. EW is fairly big, with three guys that go at least 6'8 and 250 pounds or more. But the interior guys did a good job of rotating and helping.

It was also good to see that Paul Noonan is still expanding his game. Last year, as a freshman, Noonan seemed to prefer spotting up. Last night he showed a much more aggressive side and an ability to finish at the basket with some contact.

Mark Sanchez may be the guy that ultimately fills in the leadership roll that the team needed. While Anthony Thomas is running the point and getting the guys into their offense, Sanchez is leading by example and embracing his new role this year. It doesn't seem to be just because he is their leading scorer either. He wants the ball in key situations and looks like he is working pretty hard on defense.

Briefly on the popcorn; better than last year. It has gone from "this is awful" to "I don't really remember eating it". To me, if popcorn goes by without striking a chord, good or bad, that is an automatic 2.5 out of 5. $3.50 for a bucket that feeds two or three.
