Last weekend in east Idaho, Madison High School kicked off the unofficial start to summer high school basketball with their yearly tournament. From all accounts, Coach Hawkins did another great job with the tourney that generally hosts teams from east Idaho, south Idaho and northern Utah.
This weekend at Centennial High School, the rest of the Treasure Valley will get started with games starting at 9am on Friday. Teams expected to be at this tournament include Eagle, Vallivue, Capital, Borah, Skyview, Baker City and host Centennial, amongst others. There will also be a JV tournament.
While it may be a little early to get hyped up about high school basketball, it does give a quick glimpse of what we may be seeing this winter.
Games are expected to run from 9am-5pm on Friday and Saturday.
